Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals

Learn AI from the AI Learning Hub

It has been a few years since I earned a new Microsoft Certification, but the Azure AI Fundamentals exam is in the books. This was a work requirement for the 2026 fiscal year. So I’m glad I finished it early.

Exam Basics and My Study Guide

Here are the Exam Basics. You will get between 45-50 questions and have 45 minutes to take the exam. It took me longer to set up the exam platform than it did to actually answer all the questions. The questions are broken into 5 sections as noted below. Percentages indicate the relative weight of each area on the exam. The higher the percentage, the more questions you are likely to see in that area.

Now a key mistake a lot of people make on the fundamental exams is too overstudy and overthink the questions. Normally, your first instinct is the correct one. Additionally, do not leave a question unanswered. You get points for what you get correct, so don’t leave points on the table.

The slide deck I created is more than enough to pass the exam; however, I would also recommend the following study materials for those who want a deeper dive.
